The Pastel Restoration Project

Medium: Pastels, Remix
Exhibition: ROAD TRIPS

Restoration of early pastels by William Paul Gaetjens in progress. Below are the newest additions to the archive, many in various states of completion which helps gain insight into the artist’s process. The artist never signs a work until he considers it finished and often revisits unsigned works in the collection. Click on a work to inquire about size and pricing. Custom framing available on request.

The pastels in our flat file exhibit are among the artist’s personal favorites, signed and named by William Paul Gaetjens. Click on a work to view a larger image. Contact Point.B Studio regarding pricing and availability (phone: 541-366-2036).

We designed a modular dowel rod hanging system for the pastels so they can hang vertically and be stored dust free as well as be easily removed, viewed, appreciated and reorganized. The gallery’s goal is to get all of the pastels catalogued and organized in a meaningful way (date, similarly visual, etc) to gain insight into the full oeuvre as this is a fluent way for the artist to explore ideas before they are presented in other mediums.

As we restore and photograph the works to our satisfaction, we will add them to this website. If you are interested in a work, please contact the gallery. The restored works will be available as well as giclée prints of select pastels (most likely ones that cannot be restored fully using traditional methods. See Memes.). Collectors and admirers can help keep the restoration project moving forward by acquiring a work of art today!

The above “301.pastel” (another artist’s favorite) represents some of his most intricate designs in oil pastel, featuring the bold line that is a hallmark of the artist’s style and can be seen in his metal and sculpture work. Contact Point.B Studio to inquire about availability: 541-366-2036.
